The
Play:
World premiere of new work.
The
Company:
The San Francisco Mime Troupe does not do pantomime, it is
'mime' in the ancient sense: to mimic. As satirists, SFMT
seeks to make you laugh at the absurdities of contemporary
life and at the same time, see their causes. The company has
done shows about most of the burning issues of our time, generally
shows that debunked the official story. They perform everywhere
from public parks to palaces of culture, aiming to reach the
broadest possible audience. A big part of SFMT's mission is
to combat racial fragmentation by doing work that crosses
racial and national borders, that by its very existence sustains
a vision of multi-cultural, multi-national community: plays
that not only have multi-racial plots, but embody many points
of view.
The
Reviews:
"Anyone concerned about the state of global politics
and about the state of political humor should listen to Mime
Troupe's message."
The New York Times
"You're
never only watching a political theater piece, but rather
a double barreled re-invention of politics and theater at
once."
The Boston Globe
