NET/TEN Shareback: Hand2Mouth Theatre - Fascination, Percolating Projects, and Fishbowl

Fall 2013 Travel Grant Recipient

Hand2Mouth Theatre (Portland, OR) and Chop Theatre (Vancouver, Canada) participated in a Pacific Northwest and international theatre exchange. First, H2M members traveled to Vancouver to witness The Chop’s work. Later that year The Chop traveled to Portland where H2M hosted an intensive working-methods share. After a series of closed-door intensives, the weekend culminated in an open workshop for the next generation of Oregon theatre devisers.

SHAREBACK:

We are Hand2Mouth, an ensemble of 8 core artists who have made art together for 13 years. Usually when we invite other artists in to our world it's as collaborators or as workshop participants learning our approaches and aesthetics. Lately, we've been interested in ways of being ensemble, of being together, with our wider community of independent makers.

This is a series of exercises, created by Vancouver B.C. based theater makers, Itai Erdal and TJ Dawe that makes space for artists to develop and invest in each others' projects through the active exchange of ideas.
