NET/TEN Shareback: The Hinterlands - Work, Intersections, Resources

2013 Fall Travel Grant Recipient

The Hinterlands (Detroit, MI) hosted Double Edge Theatre (Ashfield, MA) for a series of training exchanges with their ensemble and their collaborators, and held discussions with local artists and residents on place-based, sustainable artmaking. The purpose of the exchange was to examine parallels between rural and urban modes of working, serving as the first of many rural/urban exchanges.

This chart presents three common key components of place and training-based ensemble's work, and articulates the various actions similarly-focused ensembles can take in collaboration with one another within these areas. Actions are presented with an eye towards - and hope to inspire - greater connectivity and collaboration between like-minded ensembles.
