About LA Playback

LA Playback was founded by Joyce Lu in January of 2019 as a people of color led and majority people of color membership Playback Theatre company focused towards social justice. We primarily serve the community of Los Angeles by presenting spontaneous enactments of true stories in the lineage of Playback Theatre as it's been created and developed by Jonathan Fox and Jo Salas. Playback is a humanizing form of performance that is often used in organizations / companies/private events to build empathy, community, and emotional intelligence.
