About zAmya Theater Project

zAmya Theater Project was founded in to bring homeless and housed together to create theater, learn from one another and share with the broader community. zAmya is a Sanskrit word that means, “aiming at peace”. zAmya helps to end homelessness by increasing awareness, understanding and advocacy through community-based theater. zAmya operates year round creating original feature length performances, short skits and songs and performing in venues all over the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota. zAmya is led by community-based theater maker Maren Ward and a troupe of actors, musicians, writers, visual artists –many who’ve experienced homelessness - including Stayci Bell, Robert Blood, Richard Brinda, Annette Butler, Cheryl Hare, Marvin Howard, Shannon Kemp, Caroline Mannheimer, Sol Moran, Esther Ouray,  Wanda Poston, Patrick Presley, Tahiti Robinson, Greg Tromiczak, Corey Walton, Arminta Wilson and Donald "Lurch" Yundt. Guest Artists who have worked/are working with the company include Beatrix Jar, Jason Ballweber, Antonio Duke, Josef Evans, Mankwe Ndosi, Leah Nelson, Nicole Smith, Crystal Spring, Carly Wicks, and more!
