NET/TEN Shareback: Su Teatro & Latino Theater Company - 10 Things to Remember When Creating Collectively

Su Teatro (Denver, CO) deepened its relationship with the Latino Theatre Company (Los Angeles, CA) through the presentation of 2 joint works. The ongoing exchange built on LTC's residency in July 2013.  Su Teatro traveled to LA in Fall 2014, to mount a joint production of Enrique’s Journey with actors from both groups, and they co-created a short new work.


Su Teatro and Latino Theater Company are two of the oldest Latino Theaters in the country, they have known each other and been colleagues for more than 40 years. In 2014, Su Teatro travelled to Los Angeles to work with the Latino Theater Company, this included LTC associate actors joining the cast of Su Teatro’s production, sharing insight and observing each other’s work, understanding and learning from each other’s history and process and creating new work together in a four week devising intensive. The shareback is some tips on how to successfully bring artists with different styles and different skills and talent to create something new.
